Beginning in St John's, Newfoundland on the 30th of September and continuing on the 5thof October in Halifax, Nova Scotia participants will be taught the intricacies of ISO 11812, 12216 and 12217-1.  Transport Canada, the governing agency for all marine activity in Canada, requires the use of these Standards for all small non-pleasure vessels excluding fishing vessels.  That is about to change and now small fishing vessels will also have to comply.  This change will require a significant number of small vessels in the Atlantic Provinces to comply with these Standards.
